Inveraray is best known for its iconic whitewashed front of houses built by the Duke of Argyll as Scotland's first planned town. It is the location of our sister hotel, The Inveraray Inn.
When visiting Inveraray, take some time to visit the Castle and the village’s famous Jail (now a museum). Driving on from Inverarary towards Tarbet, you drove along the shores of Loch Fyne, famous for its kippers (herring) and oysters When passing through the “Rest and be Thankful”, the notoriously steep mountain pass, spare a thought from those motorists from an earlier era - this was the scene of many an over-heated radiator in years gone by!
